Sherry Otruba was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and was educated at the University of Toronto. She has had a variety of teaching positions in Toronto, the Czech Republic, Washington State, and, most recently, at Lord Botetourt High School. She has lived in Roanoke since 2007 with her husband and four children. Her interests include biking, hiking, reading, photography and traveling.
