Common Required Tests

The SAT Test is required by many college and universities throughout the United States. It is a standardized, three-hour to three hour and  fifty minute test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities as well as writing skills. There are three sections and an option essay The Reading and Writing sections have a comosite score on a 200 to 800 scale as does the Math section for a total score of 400 - 1600.  The optional Essay is scored separately  .

SAT Subject Tests

SAT Subject Tests are designed to measure knowledge and skills in particular subject areas. The five general subject areas are Literature, History and Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, and Languages and are scored on a 200 to 800 scale.

ACT

The ACT is required for admission by many schools in the Midwestern, western, and southern United States. This test measures development in English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning and is scored on a scale from 1 to 36 for each of these areas and the composite.
